Munich Airport wanted to optimize wayfinding within its terminals to improve passenger experience and create an even distribution of business across all shops and restaurants. Eye tracking was used to examine signage along several key routes to answer questions about visitor engagement that data on footfall could not. Using Tobii Pro Glasses 2 to record exactly where participants looked as they navigated selected routes, it was possible to accurately measure how people interacted and engaged with their environment. When combined with surveys, this delivered answers on the visibility, engagement, and understanding of selected signs.
